First off this tour is completely with seeing, despite its flaws. So I recommend it to you without hesitation.
Having said this here are its flaws
.
1. It runs a little long. We might have benefited from a little less content, especially the amount of time spent in the Cave of Machpela. Seeing it from both perspectives Was interesting but some way to abbreviate this experience would have helped the tour. The very daunting walk to see a view from Tzipporahs home was tiring and unnecessary.
2. I’m slightly disabled and I found the incessant climbing and terrain daunting. I had to skip a couple of things simply because I was too tired to continue. (I’m 74 years old)
I was also very discouraged by the totally implacable positions taken by the representatives of both the Palestinians and the Jewish settlers. I asked both the same two questions and was disappointed with their answers. (1) have you ever met your counterpart from the other side (answer; no) and (2) it’s clear that the situation in Hebron and throughout Israel/Palestine is not tenable long term;what do you see as a future (answer on both sides; we need peace but only on OUR terms
But this was a thoroughly educational day and the guide was excellent in presenting both points of view as objectively as he could.
Take this tour.
