Very fun experience for children! A huge hit was shooting water cannons. A couple reasons why I gave a 4 star out of 5 is we paid for the extra shark tooth discovery & I felt for what we paid it was a bit of a rip off. Part of the disappointment was because I pictured this activity as one of those panning for gold adventures. Definitely not the case. It was just a tub of sand and woman dumped sand into a plastic sand pie toy plate. Certainly didn’t leave much to the imagination for discovery. Though this has nothing to do with the voyage itself I think it could have been better. I also think for what you pay there should be a cooler of water on board with Dixie cups or something, especially in 100 degree heat. That’s a parent preference not sure the kids really cared. We are also from the Midwest so the heat is a lot. Also, I would definitely go with age recommendations of 3-10. I have children 9-13 and I would say my 9 year old got the most out of it. At the end the kiddos get treasure, which is fine but it would be nice if they offered a small sandwich bag for treasure collected. I’m prob just being picky but if you don’t have a big purse or diaper bag it falls all over & you have to carry it. Thankfully we had hats lol. If you buy anything extra I’d recommend the sword. Seemed to be a big hit amongst the littles. It’s $5.75 at the place but they try to get you to buy the pirate patch & bandana for $20. Nonetheless, it was a fun entertaining boat ride.
