The crew and guide (Pascal) were fine, and the food was very nice. But the boat itself was really not fit for tourists. The entire vessel was in poor condition, but the cabins were unlivable. Everything smelled of gasoline, the roar of the engines underneath was deafening (at night the crew even turned on the electric generator late at night which was pretty thoughtless given the racket it made). The cabins were also not clean — there were black spots on the sheets which appeared to be from debris from the ceiling, and when it rained rusty water dripped into our open suitcase and ruined some of my wife’s clothing. Ventilation was also very poor — we ended up taking a sheet up to the upper deck and sleeping in the open air. I was also disappointed that there was no effort made to make the upper deck comfortable—!there were two old beanbag chairs which got soaked at the first rain, no other chairs or loungers. So that space was unusable most of the time. In short, the amount of money taken from us was completely disproportionate to the quality of the service — they should invest in refurbishing the boat for the serious money collected.
