I went on a 5 day 4 night tour with amazon wonder expeditions and it didn’t disappoint. With the tour being close to Iquitos I thought it might not be as good but I had an amazing time with really informative guides Luis and Allan.
Animals seen in the wild were:
Saddle back tamarine monkeys on three different days and one of the days the mother was carrying its baby.
Pink amazon dolphins ???? and grey.
3 sloths, iguana ????, tarantula, frogs ????, butterfly’s ????, stick inscect, centipede, leaf cutter ants, bullet ants and more ants I don’t know the name of.
I also did a lot of bird watching with the guides Allan and Luis who let me do a extra morning activity and look for birds.
At the end of each day we would go through the amazon bird book and identify the new species we found. My favourites were the: toucanets, scarlet macaw, parakeet, wood peckers and hawks.
Animals in rehabilitation or reserves were:
Spider monkey, wooly monkey, saddle back tamarine, plus about two more monkey species. Cayman, Saratoga’s, piranhas, butterfly’s, sloths and lots more I can’t remeber.
All and all the tour was awesome for the first 3 days the groups was 5 and on the last 2 days it was just me which was great to have company but also nice to have a private personalised tour. The tour had the perfect amount of spotting animals in the wild to rehabilitation reserves and other projects. Also the food and accommodation were awesome.
