We took the Christian Galilee Tour. We departed from Jerusalem (6am) which makes the day long because you stop in Tel Aviv to pick up more people for the bus. Each tour is 12-15 people which is a good size. We switched buses in Tel Aviv and picked up our tour guide, Ozzy.
We loved all of the stops: Nazareth, Church of Multiplication, Tiberias, Capernaum, and the River Jordan. To walk where Jesus, Joseph, Mary, the Apostles and the disciples walked and lived was truly amazing. We put our feet in the Sea of Galilee and the River Jordan. It was all well worth it.
On the other hand, the first stop was a store in Nazareth. Everyone likes to have a safe environment to shop in. However, the shop was very expensive compared to similar items we could get in Jerusalem.
Lunch in Tiberias was $25/pp which was also expensive. The Tilapia (Peter's fish) was good but the meal was not worth $25/pp.
The most disappointing aspects was our tour guide. He had his script & he was sticking to it. When questions were asked he made up responses and used the same canned responses over & over. He also rushed us through each site so that by the time we reached the last site, River Jordan, we were 2 hours ahead of schedule! I said something to him about how disappointed I was with the "rush job".
The tour guide we had the next day for Jerusalem was fantastic.
I left feedback for Tour Israel on my disappointment with the tour guide but it was never addressed. Instead I received a generic response from them telling me how grateful they were for my positive review....yet it was not positive which tells me they did not bother to read it.
If you are using Tourist Israel ask who your tour guide will be and avoid Ozzy.
