You might be thinking why would this person writing this review provided such a title and awarded 5 stars rating, well let me narrate my experience step by step.
There are two kind of reviews people like myself always pay more attention to, the ones with 5 star ratings and the ones with only 1 star. I have meditated for three weeks already about how many stars should I award this business, and what should I write to support my review. Although my story and the ones who went with me to this beautiful trip were robbed, I refuse to lower my rating because that would mean I will also be punishing innocent and hardworking people.
We hired this tour agency to take us to the best areas of Turkey, and they certainly did a marvelous job. All hotels were fabulous, the food was excellent and the organization was like a perfect Mozart symphony. They delivered everything they promised. In fact, I got in touch with Ozzy multiple time and he responded all my emails and messages in a timely matter.
Our tour guides were also extraordinary, they exceeded my expectations. We felt like kids in Disney World, there was no day in which we were not amazed by the beauty of this marvelous country. The package itself was worth every single dollar.
So what went wrong? There is one rule I didn't follow and that is on me, I have to accept my responsibility: Never leave cash in your luggage, never loose sight of your luggage or personal belongings. I had three envelops inside my carry on, one said Turkey money, the other one said Egypt money and the last one said Austria's money. All that cash added up around $900, there was a TSA Approved lock on both of my pieces of luggage. We lost lost sight of our luggage in two places, one was when we were asked to leave our luggage in one of their offices our way to Ephesus, the second time was when on our way from Antalya to Cappadocia via Konya. Our designated driver works for Koker VIP transfer, I am not going to publish his name even though there were certain strange situations. First of all, the driver arrived almost an hour late, then he was driving at high speed on the mountains even though it was raining, my friends had to call our agency to warn him we were extremely scared after witnessing him not slowing down on the curves. On the road, we stopped by to use the WC ( Water Closets or restrooms) then when we arrived at Konya, the driver asked us how much time we wanted to spend there, we told him just one hour, we drove away with our luggage, an hour later we called him and requested to pick us up, he stated he was eating and will need ten minutes more, but in fact lasted around two minutes. An hour later we stopped at a gas station to have coffee and to use the WC again. The driver got behind the coffee area with the owner of the place, closed the curtains and we could hear them laughing out loud. That was kind of odd. Once we arrived at Cappadocia, we tipped him and he told us he had to drive back that night.
The following morning I opened my luggage and realized all money was gone, I called by friend and they told me they were also robbed, someone got $300 out of her purse, the other one showed me the zipper of his luggage was forced, around $200 were also stolen. Their luggage did not have locks only mine, we still had 5 days more to go in Turkey before flying to Egypt. I reached out to Ozzy and he recommended me to go to the police and file a report and to request a copy of my report to claim my insurance, but I did not pay for that kind of insurance. That was on me, we were shocked, but at least we still had our passports and wallets. I sent the pictures of the empty envelops, and nobody seemed to take responsibility as expected. I told Ozzy about this situation and he was shocked but there was nothing he could do other than recommending me to file the report, he also offered to pay for my hot-air balloon ride which never happened due to wind conditions. I told my friends, we will not be able to take today's tours if we go to the police, and on top of that what would they actually do?
This unfortunate event is on my for being naïve, my lack of judgement almost ruined my trip, but I did not let that affect me more than it should. So, as I told Ozzy, I had to write this review to warn people about our experience so nobody makes the same mistake.
