Family of 4 - Boy 17 & Girl 15, Staying at Naviti on the Coral Coast. It was very easy to book via the Resort and pick up was easy. Pickup was at 8am. It was about 2 hours to get to the Tubing base. The Tubing group were very organised.
We were given plastic bags, we could leave items behind and take what we needed. We then walked down to the Long Boats to visit the village. After about an hour we dropped off our Tubes and then continued for what felt like another hour to get to the Village.
The Village
I'm happy to see tourist $$ given to villages to help with education and fresh water and other basics. We were given a talk - I would have thought that the talk could have been a bit more informative. It was like the guide was remembering stuff as he went along and was very repetitive. We were then given "free time". We had a group of over 60 people and walking through peoples homes and taking photos is so invasive and I was not happy to really participate. After about 20 minutes, including the chat we got back in the long boat to head to the Waterfall.
The Waterfall was quite beautiful and after people swam and jumped off into the water we got back in the boats to our lunch spot.
Lunch was approx 1pm and what you would expect on a trip like this.
Nearly 6 hours into our day we finally got to go RiverTubing. It was fabulous! A bit more white water than I was expecting and it was heaps of fun. The whole family enjoyed it.
We spent FJD20 on having over 500 photos emailed to us (pretty average quality)
Highlight: RiverTubing
Lowlights:
*Way too many people in the group (website says 50, we had over 60 and the photographer told me in July they expect up to 80-90!)
*The Village - not my idea of "tourist fun" and this caused a ridiculous amount of Long boat time - approx 2-3 hour detour sitting hunched over in a small boat.
I would suggest taking Reef shoes
