These beautiful Moroccan cities, the countryside between them and their warm, accepting residents will dispel any Western fears or biases you may have before your journey. You may, however, not want to experience them with Viator. To begin, the on-line, tour description is vague. We called for more info and were referred to the Moroccan company contracted by Viator who were equally vague. Viator can arrange for airport pickup; but never confirmed ours causing us to "double pay" for ground transport at arrival. The impression is that you will see Morocco with a "Driver/Guide". The reality is that you will have a "Driver". Ours was "excellent" at driving and navigation, but was not well educated in either English or much about his country and its history. When he didn't know the answer to our questions he would usually invent something or say "This is very old.". Multiple hours are spent in an SUV on hard seats in hot weather. Dress accordingly!. Included will be a "drive-around" of each city, a full day guide in Fez (ours was amazing), a half day guide in Marrakech (also good) and substantial time "on your own" (with no advance notice) where you may "buy" additional guided tours. You will spend 4 nights in beautiful Riads; old homes converted into B&Bs. Breakfast is plain; yogurt, hot and cold breads (multiple kinds), coffee and OJ (sometimes fruit). The driver will drop you for lunch. Dinner is "OK"; provided at inexpensive places featuring Moroccan food and non-western sanitation. Accordingly, you may become ill requiring GI medications. All 4 of us were sick for at least 50% of the trip causing us to miss some of the tours we paid additional money for. We spent the last 2 nights in a more western-style hotel in Marrakech with 18 hours on our hands and nowhere to go. We didn't like the boredom and paying for our driver's half day off in Marrakech. "A waste of our time" in such a historic city. Advice if you go... (1) Read about each city in advance and ask to see specific attractions or take side-trips you have identified. (2) Ask about when and where you will need paid guides and book in advance. It will save you money. (3) Ask about dead time and the vehicle and driver's availability to you during those periods. Your driver may be able to arrange for extra excursions. (4) Consider travelers illness as a real possibility. Take precautions in eating and bring appropriate medications. Morocco and its people are amazing. Viator?
