I had a mixed experience.
The good:
He knows history very well. He is engaging, sophisticated, conversational. 3 hours tour with him is a good experience. He started talking less & less when we took 5 hours tour.
The bad:
-My friend got offended when he asked a question & the guide asked to google it.
-His restaurant suggestion was top notch but touristy. We asked for a local experience (we never mentioned cheap) & his reply was, we want to buy a camel at the price of a donkey. A tourist should have options of not choosing set menue at a fine dining restaurant. We later got good suggestion from our airbnb manager & spent similar amount at a livelier place with many more options.
-His 5 hour tour includes secluded shops which are very pushy. We were interested in knowing products, but got bombarded with "see this, see that, which one will you take, give me your price" etc. Prices in those shops were exorbitantly high. Salesmen were behaving rudely if we didnt buy (spent 2500 MAD unhappily, buyers beware). We asked to take us in a common market place with many shops, but the guide looked offended. Later without guide we had good experience buying things from usual shops.
