Let me first start with the booking process. Kenya Bush Expeditions was recommended by a friend who connected me with John. It was very easy to communicate with John. He designed the trip in accordance to all the requests we made. Modified the trip according to the places we wanted to visit, our budget and how much time we want to spend at a specific destination. He was very accomodating in terms of the itinerary, vehicle, guide and price.
Kenya Bush Expeditions provided us pick and drop from the airport. Our first night was at Nairobi where we stayed at the Best Western Hotel in downtown. Kenya Bush Expeditions made dinner reservations for us at The Carnivore and also provided pick and drop (both for an extra charge but it was very convenient and I would recommend to do this activity through them).
Our itinerary was as follows: Day 1 at Nairobi, Day 2 Amboseli National Park, Day 3 Lake Naivasha and Nakuru National Park, Day 4 and 5 Maasai Mara National Park, Day 6 Back to Nairobi.
The resorts booked by the company were really good for the price. Land Cruiser was in great condition to handle all kinds of terrain and came with a very experienced driver and our guide Peter. I would like to make a special mention of Peter here. This trip is the kind of trip which can become very painful if your guide/driver is not taking good care of you. We were exceptionally lucky in this regard because Peter was very friendly, humble, hardworking and knows his job very well. He put great effort in keeping us comfortable during all these days and accommodated all our requests. He knew the terrain and the parks very well and it was because of him that we were able to see the BIG 5 and also a live hunt by a Cheetah (which was wonderful and totally unexpected. It made our trip totally worth it).
The additional activities that we did were dinner at The Carnivore, Boat ride at Lake Naivasha, Visit to Maasai Village and Hot Air Balloon ride at Maasai Mara. All of these were included very smoothly in our itinerary and the services provided were of great quality.
Overall, the trip was a wonderful experience and Kenya Bush Expeditions played a great role in executing it.
Recommendations: Bring a really good camera with a good zoom lens, preferably a DSLR. Hot Air Balloon ride adds greatly to the trip and is a must. Maasai Mara is the prime destination and most of the time should be spent there.
