I received a call on July 3 saying they could no longer pick us up at Monaco Port cuz of a law prohibiting pickup there by French companies. I told them I would research options, and I would call them the next day to cancel or not. I specifically asked them not to cancel our tour until I called them.
I investigated the situation and found out I could rent a couple of taxis to take the 8 of us (my wife and I, our 2 sons and their wives, and our 2 teenage grandchildren) to a very close French town, Cap D'ail. When I called them, the woman (not the person I spoke to on the day before) said we just cancelled you tour. I asked why since they had agreed to wait until I called back before we would do anything. I said I found a very simple solution and we will meet their private tour van in Cap D'ail, so reinstate our tour. She claimed she couldn't do that cuz she had no control over it, the computer system did that. I stated the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance, but the woman insisted it was 48 hours, even after I told her it was clearly written on my confirmation from TripAdvisor that it was 24 hours.So we were left high and dry with no tour! And absolutely no help from this Sightseeing Company.
This company handled the situation as bad as could possibility be done! I hope TripAdvisor will investigate this Company and make sure nothing like would happen to a good customer again. I have used TripAdvisor and Viator for over 20 years, but this has shaken my faith in them.
