The ruins and cenote were amazing. BUT…
The tour guide, Mili was extremely rude and her behavior was shocking. Overall the tour was very disorganized. The guide did not communicate an end time for the Tulum portion of the tour and left 12 people at Tulum, including a mother and her young child and an elderly mother. Several people on the bus requested that we wait and make efforts to reach the missing tour members, but the bus left without them. A number of people feared we were being kidnapped due to the language barrier as so many people were left behind.
The tour guide spoke rapidly in Spanish, then rapid, broken English, then rapid Spanish with no pauses to confirm the group comprehended the information received. Even spanish-speaking people on the tour could not understand and the dozen people that were left behind were all fluent in Spanish.
It should be noted we had cell reception so efforts could have been made to reach the missing tour members by the tour company.
The remaining people on the bus were were angry and feared for the safety of the 12 people left behind.
Luckily the 12 people left behind took a (very expensive) shuttle to meet the tour an hour away in Coba. The tour group rejoiced when we were all reunited with the missing group members and everyone keep close watch on each other the remainder of the day.
The food portion of the trip--food was great and service at restaurant great but we were all starving as we had been picked up between 730am and 930am and we didn't eat until after 4pm. Not enough time to explore the ruins at Tulum or Coba. Playa Da Carmen also nice but rushed.
