I requested the local to take me to the local market and Chinatown in Lima , and the plaza closed by , will need 2-3 hrs to make it worthwhile . The fresh food market reflects what people consumes and their culture , unlike USA supermarket ,the market is a place when people shop daily for their fresh food , fish , meat ( whole lamb , fresh while chicken slaughtered old way , tongues , lungs , hearts etc . Really open up my mind , The food market is relatively clean . Chinatown is interesting , Chineses came to Peru to work in the cotton fields 100 years ago and is well integrated in the society with intermarriage etc . Chinatown is a few streets with shops and restaurents ,interesting unlike SF or NYC in USA , 90 percent of these places are ran by Peruvian , , only a few places ran by Chineses that I can converse with. Look like roast duck ,BBQ chicken and pork very popular. , most customers are Peruvian locals . Nice to learn such culture differences in Peru. The plaza with the presidential palace and changing of guards at noon 10 min away , worth to see , many historical buildings along the way
