If you’re looking for a tour company for day/overnight trips from Lima, book here!
We just got back from two weeks in Peru and used several different tour companies while in Cusco with several hiccups, but our experience with Peruvian world tours was pretty flawless, easy, and met all our expectations.
We only a few days in Lima after spending over a week in Cusco, and we wanted to be able to see all the neighboring sites including Paracas, huacachina, and the nazca lines. After being in several group tours for Machu Picchu and the inca trail, we wanted a more private experience. I had reached out to our prior tour operator in Cusco to see if they had offered or could put together an itinerary for our Lima trip, and they wanted to charge $$$, so I thought I would reach out to a few other companies from trip advisor to get a few other quotes. I contacted several, and Jean Paul responded quickly via what’s app and gave us a quote almost immediately with a price for a 2 day private tour that included a hotel that was almost half of what our other tour company quoted us. I was hesitant to book at first, as at the time the company seemed relatively new with only a handful (yet all positive) reviews, but everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations! We paid half of the tour via PayPal for a deposit, and the other half when the driver picked us up.
Our tour guide, Manuel, and our driver picked us up promptly from our hotel and we drove early in the morning to Paracas. The car was comfortable, and we slept almost the whole few hours with a small pit stop for snacks and coffee. We boarded a boat for the Ballestas island tour and saw several penguins, dolphins, sea birds, sea lions, and vultures. After the boat, Manuel met us and our driver and we went driving through Paracas national reserve, stopping at several sites for pictures and views of the beautiful landscapes. We then drove to Ica to a local pisco tasting spot, where we had lunch, a few pisco sours, and tasted all the different piscos and wines. It was a large venue but everyone around was having such a fun time. We bought a few bottles to take home, and our driver picked us up and took our tipsy selves to our hotel in Nasca, Manuel helped us check in and we were too tired to go out but we slept and relaxed for most of the evening. We woke up had breakfast at our hotel, and walked around Nasca for an hour or two until Manuel and our driver picked us up and took us to the Nasca airport so we could board our overflight to see all the Nasca lines. Manuel gave some history of the lines prior to our arrival (Side note: one of our friends is a pilot for Latam in Peru, and confirmed to us that the airline Manuel and Jean Paul booked was very safe and top of the market for safety). It was very cool to see how expansive the lines run, and in my opinion the only way to really experience them. We had some lunch in a local restaurant in Nasca before we traveled to huacachina. We rode a sand buggy which was fun and even tried sand boarding, and ended the 2 day whirlwind of a trip watching the sun set over the dunes.
Overall, the trip was highly packed with fun activities and we were able to see so many different aspects of Peru in such a short time. Beware, the driving in between sites is long, but the car was comfortable and it was nice to not be on a bus with tons of people.
Manuel is a kind and sweet person and we always felt safe and cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again with this company!
