Ervaar de magie van Andes-textiel: weefworkshop - Cusco

This workshop exceeded my expectation, it was everything I hoped for and then some! Anyone wanting an authentic Andean textile workshop should sign up. This isn’t the kind of workshop where there is someone showing you how they do this, in this workshop it is you actually collecting leaves, do the dying, learn to spin the yarn, and do the weaving (sometimes with a little help if needed, or wanted!). Edwin is a gem and so informative, with tremendous respect for preserving the Andean traditions and artisanship. I can’t wait to come back and bring some friends! Highly recommend this!

This was a fantastic day. Edwin and his family were so welcoming and had so much knowledge to share. It was a marvel to watch the skill, patience and complexity involved in creating traditional woven textiles. An incredible privilege to spend time with master weavers. And we had lots of fun gathering the leaves and attempting to spin the wool! I highly recommend this tour.

My friend and I visited Cusco in November 2022. This was a last minute add-on when we canceled our rainbow mountain hike. We were BLOWN AWAY and this easily became one of the highlights of our trip. Edwin and the weavers were so incredibly welcoming. They shared the history of their family, the process of weaving and included us in the whole process. We gathered plants, dyed yarn, spun wool, and wove a bracelet. But the highlight for us was exploring a new culture and conversing with the people there. We learned so much and were able to share so much of our own cultures. This is an unforgettable experience, something completely unique that you will not find somewhere else. You become part of the family for 8 hours- sitting at their kitchen table, dining of local fruits and being served a delicious homemade lunch. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. We will be talking about it for years to come!
