We knew we couldn’t come to Mexico and not visit CocoBongos, so four of us booked tickets…. Left early and wished we hadn’t bothered. We bought gold member tickets and were seated next to the stage, where we couldn’t see any of the screens so we asked to move to the empty seats behind us, we were told we couldn’t but we were later offered to move downstairs for an extra cost. The drinks started ok, but by the second round seemed to change to what tasted like watered down vodka (we’d all ordered rum!) The performances are ok, but nothing that you won’t see elsewhere. The dancers looked bored. Between short performances, there are intervals that felt like they went on forever. Where girls basically try their hardest to get themselves and their backsides on the big screen, some very willing, some not so willing after seeing a staff member forcing a young girl on the stage. This is very much seedy nightclub, not a show.

We booked through out Tui rep and got the Gold pass, so we wouldn't need to pay when we got there. We went on a Sunday night as it was quieter (????) We arrived and was immediately offered an upgrade for an extra $200 to go down to the ground level, we said no. We were then put at the end of a line with my husband sitting in the aisle. We moved after a few numbers to the back row where we weren't in the way and could sit in peace. The staff were always there to get you drinks, but the food isn't great. The vodka staff who walk around offering shots have whistles, which become annoying very quickly! The dances are good,entertaining and well done. We really enjoyed them. They have cameras which pan around the crowd and show people in their seats. Mostly women are chosen to go and dance on stage or have dance offs in the audience, these can be highly entertaining. The staff dress us as The Mask, or Beetlejuice and come into the audience to have their picture taken with you. You can buy these after in a frame for roughly £40.

We booked VIP tickets through Tui although I thought it was expensive I was glad we did . We enjoyed the experience and the show was fantastic ! Our waiter was brilliant ( a tip helps ) drinks were flowing and food was ok. We took our 19 and 20 year olds who enjoyed the experience too. They checked their ID s so make sure you take them with you they also checked the ticket holders ID ( mine too) We didn’t encounter any problems but had heard of a young girl at our hotel who had had her drink spiked there the previous night and had ended up in hospital which worried me a lot so felt very cautious - just be careful with drinks whilst on dance floor and the free drinks they offer ! I was glad we paid extra for the VIP experience in the end !
