I can't (and won't) stop raving about Mr. BOUN!
OMG! Mr. Boun, thank you for making our short visit of Laos the highlight of our 7 SouthEast Asian countries trip! Please be my tour guide for all of my trips ????. Lol. I will forever remember your infectious laugh! ❤️
The bus was VIP style! Comfy and new and clean! Wonderful driver as well.
I was on this tour with my sister. She is not much of a history buff, but me, I soaked in all the wonderful information, history, insights, and knowledge that Mr. Boun shared. He was a wealth of knowledge and obviously loved his background.
We took beautiful pictures everywhere, especially the beautiful palace and at the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang (so Mr. Boun kept saying , lol). Remember to cover up or bring a scarf to cover up your shoulders if you don't want to keep renting a sarong and scarves for 10k kip every time (roughly $.50). But it's not about the money, it's about having the cash on hand.
Because we were a small group of 2, they accommodated every wish we had. Some places we wanted to spend less time and others more time. We got a "yes, sure" for everything we asked. The waterfall was out of this world! Beautiful aqua blue waters! A little bit crowded if you stay in the shallow areas. Deeper waters, no one was swimming there. Go deep for your pictures ????
The restaurant near the waterfall was good. Very basic, however. Nothing marvelous.
Bring some napkins and such with you, Some restroom stops had no toilet paper.
Since we had much more time left, we decided to stop at an elephant camp. My sister had fun bathing one of them in the Mekong river. I skipped that part.
We also asked to see the Obama coconut stand. That was fun, drinking a coconut and taking pictures, following the footsteps of our ex-president.
All in all, I would love to take Mr. Boun with me to be my guide for the remainder of my trip ????.
I feel we will remain pen pals via Whatsapp.
I am also definitely going back to Luang Prabang in the future!
