Zeer ontspannend, uniek, ongerept, prachtig uitzicht, spectaculaire bloemen.

It is hard to put into words how amazingly special our trip to the Azores was, and I can say, without a doubt, that Andy with Azores Connections was 100% responsible for that.
We were on a family trip (2 adults, 2 kids, 7 and 9 year olds) in Portugal for 5 weeks. We spent one of those weeks in the Azores (all on the island of Sao Miguel). Since returning from our trip, when any of the 4 of us are asked about our time in Portugal, our week in the Azores is often the first thing out of our mouths. My husband was hesitant to add the Azores onto our itinerary since it added extra travel, but he is the first to say it was his favorite part of the trip.
We had 2 private tours with Andy (Sete Cidades and Furnas) and 3 days with his partners (canyoning, whale watching, and buggy tour), all booked through his website. Though this was the most scheduled week of our 5 week vacation (most other weeks we had things we wanted to see or do, it was all at our own pace and on our own), it was the easiest week, both to plan and experience. I found the Azores Connection website, emailed Andy a few times for recommendations on how to schedule our week, ensuring it was kid friendly, booked, and that was it.
Our week was perfectly seamless. On our private tour days, Andy picked us up in his SUV at our Air BnB in Ponta Delgada. Not only did he show us so many awesome viewpoints and special spots around the island, we saw and learned so many things we never would have seen or known if we had done the exact same itinerary on our own, I felt like we got an insider's view of the island, since many of the things we did were not high trafficked spots. We also really enjoyed our days with Andy. It was so nice to have another adult to hang with since it was just us and the kids for the rest of the trip.
As the "trip planner" in our family, it was seriously awesome knowing we were going to see and do some super special things, yet not have to spend countless hours researching how to get that experience. We didn't need a rental car for the week. We didn't need to spend the day with our nose in the map, lost, or arguing over directions (ha!). We looked out the window, asked questions, stopped at unique and special spots, learned lots, and really just enjoyed ourselves. And the kids did too!
Our days in Azores were very special. I have already shared Andy's website with many other travelers and would highly recommend him (and his partners) to anyone who is visiting Azores. I can't imagine doing this trip any other way.
