Our afternoon began with a farm tour from our knowledgeable guide Price, who was armed with ponchos even though the weather couldn’t dampen the mood. Learning about the working operation of the Barra farm first hand was fascinating and educational, with both Price’s and the farms passion and dedication to sustainably raising these beauties clearly evident. Taking a break to sample the gourmet tasting plate a tantalising celebration of Barramundi that (unless you don’t like fish) won’t disappoint (my husband and I happily finishing off what our fussy kids declined)! Finally, on to a safety induction and then the real fun began….trying to catch a big one! The kids were (excuse the pun) hooked, the hardest part of our day getting them to wind up. Couldn’t recommend this worthwhile outing highly enough.

Great spot and the staff loved their work. Food was delicious and always nice to land a 102cm Barra! I got their courtesy bus from Port Douglas, very easy way to access the farm.

This was the best bonding experience for my young son (12 years old) and me as father could hope for. My son visits me every school holidays and we were struggling to find a great activity we would both enjoy. With a shared love of fishing, Hook a Barra made it possible for us to create even better memories with my son catching three monster barras around 90cm long. He came away a different young boy and grateful for the best school holiday memory with his dad plus cool photos to brag to his friend when he returns home. Young Pryce, the ever attentive guide and the rest of the crew were simply amazing and gave us the best customised experience we could hope for. Absolute value for money, each staff making sure our experience of catching a big fish was well catered for. We will definitely be returning next holidays.
