Transfer from the Airport to Reykjavik was all fine. All booked and paid online before arrival and asking at the desk we didn't need to pick up a ticket, just go straight to the coach and show our booking. With rain beating down I was quite glad not to be driving a hire car in it! We arrived at the bus depot and had to get into a smaller mini-bus to take us to the hotel.
The return trip to the airport was not so succesful. We felt a little unsure about the local pick-up and by now were more familiar with the town. It was only a shortish walk up to the bus depot, so decided to forgo the mini-bus pick up. At the bus depot there was no sign of the bus, and enquiries at the desk there didn't help. In the end I phoned Gray Line, and it turned out there are two bus depot's in Reykjavik! We were at the wrong one. She checked if there was another driver around to pick us up and take us there, but when she found one it wouldn't get us to the coach in time and we would have to catch the next bus an hour later, and we could be too late for our flight. Since the Reykjavik Excursions bus was leaving in only half an hour we decided that we would pay for that instead to make sure we arrived in time.
I did ask, but Gray Line refused to refund our tickets. It was our mistake admittedly, but we didn't use their service in the end. So I write this review as a warning. Check which Bus Depot, or just use the nail-biting wait for mini-bus pick up!
