Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood

I did the Deluxe tour which started with a nice buffet Breakfast and drinks. You then enter a screening room to watch an introduction video after which you are greeted by your guide for the day and are taken out to your tour cart. We struck lucky on our day there were only 3 of us on our tour and Freddie our guide was fantastic funny and very knowledgeable of the history of the studio and the productions that have taken place there over the years. You get about 3 hours being taken round the studios and backlot and about an hour for a fantastic 3 course lunch in the same restaurant used by the studio executives. In fact a couple of days after my visit I was watching an episode of Succession and the very same restaurant was used in the show. The tour ends with a self guided tour round 2 stages of exhibits including sets from The Bang Theory and Friends shows and also the DC Universe.

We aren’t big film or television buffs, but still found this totally worthwhile. You get to see famous sets and props from a number of big name shows and pictures, but on top of that our guide Aaron also gave us great info about the technical process of making a film, which was really interesting. There’s tonnes more of that kind of explanation in the museum bits too. Alongside lots of trivia and a healthy dose of very cheesy jokes, it’s an excellent afternoon.

A must do tour if you love TV! This is the perfect tour for fans of Friends. There is a Central Perk Cafe + special photo op AND a store to shop everything Friends, with Monica’s kitchen, Joey & Chandler’s Living room and 3 different areas to take pictures with *the* Couch. You can also take advantage of a photo op for The Big Bang Theory and sit in Sheldon’s spot. The tour is 3 parts, an hour studio lot tour, a photo op section, with Friends, TBBT, Harry Potter (photos are $25-29 for the first one, then $17 for the next ones you buy. On the driven portion, there are a lot of spots where they filmed shows like Gilmore Girls (you can see the famous Stars Hollow gazebo!) and Pretty Little Liars. You’ll also see sets for movies that take place in New York. There’s lots of old Hollywood history to learn as well at the start of the tour. The Harry Potter portion of the tour is small in comparison to other HP tours, like the WB tour in London but this was still cute. Our tour guide, Deja, was an absolute delight! We loved her upbeat attitude and smile, she was so great. She asked ahead what shows & movies the groups were most interested in and did her best to inform us on related topics. My only wish was we got 20-30 minutes more riding around the back lot and to see more than one active set. We saw a show set for a TV series I hadn’t been interested in (but Deja’s praise for it had made me consider watching when I get home!). For the cost, it’s a great LA tour. The lobby also has a Starbucks, in case you need a snack and coffee before the tour. There’s easy parking in a garage for $15. We got there 20-25 minutes early and that was helpful for getting checked in and getting to read the history of the studio ahead of our actual tour time. You should allot at least 3 hours, but if you’re a big Friends fan, you should give yourself even more time for the cafe and specialty shop.
