I participated in this cooking class with my sister and our daughters, and we all decided it was our favorite activity during our trip to Italy. Damiano was a fantastic teacher and he and his wife made the day so much fun! We learned how to make traditional culurgiones, which are like ravioli but very traditional to Sardinia. Normally, I do not like to cook or really spend time in a kitchen, but this was an easy and enjoyable way to learn about making pasta. The fact that it was in Damiano and his wife's home made it a very personable class, too. One of the great aspects of this visit was how interactive it was -- so much so that even our daughters, a 20-year-old, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, were engaged and entertained the entire time. It's not always easy to find an activity that everyone enjoys. This fit the bill!
The best part, of course, was that we were able to eat what we made. Plus, wine, water and snacks were also available. The day was extra special because as we were planning our Italian trip, my sister and I found out we have a tiny bit of Sardinian heritage in addition to our mostly Scandinavian background. Consequently, we were eager to learn more about Cagliari and Sardegna! We became known as the "Swedish Sardinians" by the end of our engaging event.
I highly recommend this class as a "must-do" during a visit to Cagliari!
