Shatabdi Express trains are a series of medium fast passenger trains (dubbed Superfast in India) operated by Indian Railways to connect Delhi with Agra.
Shatabdi Express trains offer fast connectivity with only a few intermediate stops. They are fully air-conditioned and of a much higher standard than most Indian trains. Shatabdi travellers are provided with bottled water, juice, coffee or tea, and meals relevant to the time of day of the journey.
Passengers in the air conditioned coaches can access reserved seating in a 3 plus 2 arrangement. On certain routes the ticket includes a meal and drinks, The meal is a hot vegetarian dish plus a banana. Tea is available and bottled water. Two toilets are provided in each coach - a European sit down, and an Asian squat toilet. These are not very clean and no water is available for hand washing. The trains time on time and the journey is better than trying an internal flight. Charge points exist for laptops and mobile phones using a European wall plug high on the wall. The "first class" Carriages are usually at the extreme front or rear of the very long train. Get some assistance via a porter (small charge) to get you and your cases to the correct platform and location.
