This zoo is awesome! It’s huge and has such a variety of animals. We purchased tickets ahead of time and had them loaded on the app. I definitely recommend making a plan before you go and which animals you want to see. You can check them off as you go.
We went first thing in the morning and saw about 2/3 of the zoo before getting hot and needing a break. You can get your hand stamped and come back the same day, though. We came back after my daughter’s nap and saw the rest of the animals. The way the exhibits are set up makes it easy to see the animals and fairly close up at that. There were lots of volunteers throughout to help you navigate or tell you about the animals.
We took an umbrella stroller and man, you get your work out in. By the Eagle trail and the bears, it’s mostly up-hill. We had to take a couple of breaks because we got winded. You can take in water and snacks which is nice as food/drinks were expensive. We did get food from the Sandwich Company and Safari Kitchen. It was all yummy and the chicken sandwich from the Safari Kitchen was honestly one of the best things I ate.
