The driver, from a third party contractor to Viator, was very good and we ordered a sedan but they sent a limo so that was nice. I think the company name was Carmel and I would recommend them highly.
Other than that though the experience was terrible. The selected trip was on the Viator menu list so I thought this was routine for them. I decided to call to make arrangements and it was obvious he didn't know much about this trip. I repeated that this was one that was on the Viator menu so why don't you know the details. Finally got it all taken care of, I thought. The day before the trip I got a call for confirmation and it was obvious this guy knew even less and I had to repeat in the info I provided earlier when I arranged for the car. He asked if Seward was very close to Anchorage. I said no, that it was 130 miles away. Again I pointed out that this was a trip I selected from the Viator menu so I expected him to know this. He said he was in New York and didn't know anything about Alaska. When I ordered the car I made arrangements to be picked up at our hotel. This guy said no he couldn't do that because they only do pickups at the airport. So we were forced to take the hotel shuttle back to the airport. The driver was surprised because his work order was to pick us up at the hotel as originally requested. Unfortunately we had already gone to the airport. The driver said they pickup from hotels all the time. Also Anchorage/Seward trip was something he does 8 - 10/week. His company is a third party to Viator. I don't know what the Viator's cut was of out total cost but whatever it was it was too much because they added very little value.
