Pablo was AMAZING!!! What an awesome day!! Pablo was so knowledgeable about everything we saw! He was an awesome driver, so patient with us! We couldn’t of asked for a better tour guide! Your country is gorgeous! Pablo, thank you so much for such an enjoyable day! We never felt rushed, and you made sure we had plenty of time to do everything we wanted at each of the stops! We will be back, and now I want to do the river tour with you next time We are here!!!!! ????????????????????
This tour is an absolute must do!!! The park, the mud bath and hot springs, and waterfalls are surreal. The whole experience is absolutely worth the drive and long day. It was amazing!!!!! The highlight of it all was Daniel our tour guide. His energy, passion, and love for the people, flora, fauna and magic that is Costa Rica is infectious and nothing but pure delight. We got back to the hotel exhausted but full of joy and gratitude for an experience we will never forget!!! Thank you Daniel for making memories with us!!!
Loved every minute of it. And let me tell you, I was worried. Worried my Very Overweight, out-of-shape, older body would be able to hang doing a two hour hike. Pretty sure I haven't been on a hike since 6th grade, so, not sure what I was expecting...but I made it, and didn't cry once. So if I can do it, and enjoy it, I highly encourage anyone who is unsure because of weight or lack of physical fitness, to go for it!
Our guide, Daniel, was amazing. Very knowledgeable, super friendly, and accomadating. He was on time picking us up at the Westin Reserva, made conversation easy on the two hour ride to our destination. Even stopped along the way so my husband could pick up some beers.
The way this company sets up the day could not be more perfect. We start out with the hike. It is a big loop that takes us into the forest, by the stinky sulfer area, bubbling mud, and boiling, steaming water to see the volano hot spots in action.
We didn't see a ton of wildlife on our trip. From talking to others out on the path, it sounded like much of the wildlife was "napping" at that time. We did see deer, snake, several Tucans and some white faced monkeys! Daniel was able to show us some amazing birds, and we listened to the lovely music of a nightingale.
After the hike we stepped into a small cafe to use the restroom and grab a beet and a snack. Then, off to the waterfall. It was a very quick walk, less than 10 minutes. The hanging bridge was scary -my fat husband was trying to be funny and make it sway. But oh the waterfall was so pretty and the water was ice cold. Perfect after that hike.
Next, we walk back to our vehicle for a short drive to the mudbath, hot springs. Another short walk. Then, relax time. Ahhhh. So peaceful. I have some nasty bug bites on my leg and foot and I swear that mud calmed them down.
Finally, we ended the day with a very nice lunch up the road from the hot springs. The food was good and plentiful. Buffet sytle. Almost everything was included in our ticket price. Ice cold beer available for purchase. Yummm!
The ride back was nice and chill. Daniel had good music on the radio and pointed out places of interest along the way. We loved that Daniel took pictures of us wiyh our camera so we had tons of great photos to look at. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and highly reccomend Gabriel's Custom Tours.
