What a wonderful day! Four of us from Adelaide took the scenic route to Goolwa where we were welcomed by the amazing Anita, full of energy and exuberance and so much knowledge, and her quiet assistant Marianne. Wine from Kimbolton, a local regional winery, and nibbles made us feel especially welcome. Two other locals met us there, making a total of only 6 people - a perfect size for individual attention and plenty of room to see the demonstrations up close.
Pastry-making has always been something of a chore to me but, much to my surprise, Anita not only made it LOOK simple but she proved that we could do it too! Indeed, I have since put into practice what we learned and am loving creating my own pastries.
Lunch was a delicious spread of our own creations, enhanced by Anita’s ‘cheffy’ presentation, and accompanied by more wines and other drinks.
Thanks to Marianne, no dishes to wash! Just enjoy!
Anita was so generous with her time and in sharing her skills. Her passion for good food, created at home, is inspirational. I can’t wait for my next class!
