It's a long day that started at 6am, but is well worth it. Chichen Itza was amazing and it was great getting there before the crowds and heat. The tour hit all the highlights and areas. It would have been nice to have a bit more time to wonder, but the agenda was packed so had to focus on the main area.
I originally didn't care so much about the cenote visit, but it turned out to be marvelous. It was found by the homeowner while doing some work so it was only the 4 of us on the tour who swam. The home cooked lunch provided by the family was delicious and one of my favorites from our Mexico trip.
Izamal was interesting, but not much to see beyond the yellow buildings so an hour there was perfect. There was also time to climb their pyramid and get a much-needed cool popsicle.
Deliu (spelling?) was a great guide and host.
