Booking was easy and communication on WhatsApp with the tour guide, Juan, was great. The lunch after was delicious and Juan easily handled our dietary restrictions. The tour itself was amazing. It’s not an operating, commercial-level plantation, but we liked that way better (we went to a commercial plantation around here 21 years ago and it was boring and not informative). Juan was friendly and entertaining and the tour was very relaxed but also very informative. We learned so much about growing coffee, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, pineapples, lemons, and bananas with the permaculture method and more. The tasting part of the tour was outstanding. We loved shelling and eating our own roasted cacao bean, drinking the chocolate drink, the fruit sundae bar, the coffee, and the fresh sugar cane juice and guaro cocktail (can’t remember the names of the drinks).
