Total waste of time and money. We went as a large group of ladies from our club expecting it to be done up for Christmas and it wasn’t we had travelled from Norfolk. The last few miles of the journey were the worst the traffic moved slowly as there were many shows on within a few miles.
On arrival we had to follow the crowd as there was. I signage or staff it was a good 2o mins for a number of our ladies from our coach though a field/car park and a cross a busy rd and then up another path. This wasn’t a good start to our day. A land train would hav helped greatly even if payable as an extra.
The house decoration was a Few bits of foliage and candles on shelves! It Took asking 4 members of staff for instructions to get us to the great hall. No staff in the house to help or give information. The rooms lacked info and atmosphere. They should visit number 1 royal crescent bath to get ideas on what’s needed now.
Luckerly there was a market or I don’t know how we would hav occupied ourselves. The market however was mainly food and booze the queques were long and slow moving due to lack of staff. Many of the booze stalls were hard to get near due to people just getting the free samples.
Despite the cold we tried to see the gardens but many things were covered in white sheets.
If you want to see a house done for Christmas visit holkholm hall! Which we did a few days later and it was amazing luckerly making up for the great disappointment we had at Hampton court!
