This one day event was definitely worth it, the local guides spoke English and were very knowledgeable about the jungle, explaining the plants and animals we encountered during the hike, serving a very tasty buffet-style lunch with fish from the river and cold beverages from the bar. A lot of activities were packed into this one-day trip and I can highly recommend this family-owned trip organizer. They even came to your hotel to pick you up and drop you off late in the evening. Several travelers stayed the night at their lodge in the forest, doing all the activities like visiting the dark and brown water of the Rio Negro merging with the Rio Solimões, feeding and swimming with the pink dolphins, etc. Afterwards, go to have dinner at the excellent Tambaqui de Banda restaurant near the Teatro Amazonas. Since most locals don't speak English, bring your iPhone with a translation app. this is a trip to remember.
