Our tour guide, Betsaida, was a delight! High energy, knowledgeable, and eager to highlight the rich cultural and historical influences of Oaxacan cuisine. The food we experienced was wonderful; at each stop Bethsaida provided background info on ingredients, preparation, and the region of origin. We tasted a variety of indigenous fruits, items from established/well known street vendors, and a fantastic sit down grilled meat meal at the Mercado 20 De Noviembre. In addition to offering info on Oaxacan food, our guide provided her insights on local crafts, regional history, languages and dialects, and other cultural influences of the area. All together, a fantastic day and highly recommended!
