This trip was supposed to be 30 minutes at jewelry factory and 30 mins tequila tasting and then on to Playa del Car. B It was more like 2.5 hours in total for jewellery and tequila. Once you get there, they put on a little dance - and then bring you over to a window and show you two people working on jewellery. You are then escorted into the showroom and assigned a personal shopper who brings you around to every showcase trying to get you buy something. After an hour of this, they take you next door to their tequila shop, where guess what, they try to get you to buy their tequila. Our driver was kinda grumpy and didn’t speak any English, so we had know idea where to meet back and all our questions were unanswered. Finally after 2+ hours of waiting you get driven to Playa - dropped off at a so- so beach club- nothing fancy and get told to find 5th avenue on your own. I would have preferred more time on 5th avenue with all its restaurants and shopping and less time being pressured into buying jewelry and tequila. Also, be very careful on 5th avenue - aggressive sales people and many times someone would claim to know us from our resort - they all know the resorts based on the colour of your wristband- and they were your waiter. This guy gave us the spiel of it being his day off and helping out his grandfather. All in all- it was on ok day, but we decided to go back to Playa del Car on our own a different day and had a much better experience.
