Our best family memories were on the Icelandic Roamers tours with Miro. Looking back I wish I had scheduled all of our tours with them. Miro was excellent at tailoring the day to make a unique experience for everyone in the family. He was very attentive to safety for me, mom, while adventurous enough to keep my college age son and daughter captivated. The images that Miro captured were majestic. My husband and I, both art directors in California, were pleasantly surprised by the artistry of Milo's photography…very professional! Tours with other companies were scenic but felt more like a cattle call and not nearly as memorable or endearing as our adventures with Icelandic Roamers. Other group bus tours, mini and full size buses, can be confusing and stressful. Most of the tours pick up at crowded bus stops with many other tourists waiting for a variety of tours with various companies.Often these companies require that you arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. If you are late you risk being left behind. Icelandic Roamers tours were first class and so much more enjoyable than the group tours. Miro showed up at our hotel on time and was very patient when we’re a little late. He was extremely entertaining and informative. His cheerful personality always made for a fun day! Miro’s wife Maja coincidentally worked at our hotel, the Canopy Hilton, and was equally endearing. They have a very professional and personable family business. I highly recommend all of their tours!

I have to say that Miro creates a truly special experience. From the moment we met him he was enthusiastic, and that excitement did not stop until we said goodbye 5 days later. First, he cares deeply about Iceland; and he’s genuinely excited to share every aspect in ways that are engaging and make you understand this beautiful country. He treats the country with a lot of reverence and respect. Personally, my wife and I don’t like when people disrespect the landscape and the signs and barriers that are put up to protect the environment. Miro is very much the same way. He wants people to experience the raw beauty of the country for generations to come and we loved that. Next, he’s immensely engaging. Just hours into the tour it felt like we were visiting a friend instead of having a tour guide. We spent so much time just laughing and talking about our own shared and varied interests. He’s so genuine and kind as a person and knows how to treat people. The car was clean, comfortable and rugged enough to handle impromptu mud, rain and snow. And all of the accommodations he arranged were comfortable and the perfect way to unwind after a long day of adventure. On top of his knowledge and personality, he’s a fantastic photogrpaher. Every single photo he shared with us was of the quality you would hang on your wall. At times he made either of us look downright heroic. This adds another level of value to the trip because the photos last forever. His itinerary really felt like we covered so much ground without being exhausting. And his advice with regards to any of our activities was spot on. Every day was full of rich, beautiful scenery and experiences that we will never forget. Not only do we recommend his tour, we can’t wait to come back and visit with our new friend.

Een hele dag vol wonderen, om eerlijk te zijn, we zijn nog nooit zo uitgeput thuisgekomen van een reis! Off-road door het zwarte zandstrand, watervallen, filmlocaties (onlangs kwamen we erachter dat we op hetzelfde strand zijn geweest waar Russel Crowe tijdens het filmen van Noah!) de tel kwijt, om nog maar te zwijgen van het feit dat we de meeste namen niet eens konden uitspreken. De reis kan niet persoonlijker zijn, als je er niet van houdt om naar plaatsen in de bus vol vreemden te worden gebracht met getimede tijd om daar door te brengen, zoals alle andere touroperators doen, boek dan de tijd bij Roamers, want elke minuut is het waard. Om niet te veel te zeggen, we plannen al een andere reis, in het andere seizoen, want we hebben niet genoeg van IJsland!
