We managed to get tickets via sun savers, so cheap tickets. We went in November, and disappointed that nothing was really on. They were getting ready for the Christmas events, we hadn't realised that most of the normal events wouldn't be on. I think the only thing they had was tours and falconry (which we missed because we didn't realise it was only 12 and 3).
The castle is good, lots of tight narrow steps if you do the walk round the walls, so no good for very young kids or ones that moan.
The park is great, but I feel one for older kids would be good as well. Lots of older kids/young teenagers, so I think a more suitable park would be good.
I've been to much better castles for significantly less. It's very 'merlin'
Lots of space to have picnics etc.
For the full price (which doesn't include parking), it's a very expensive day and I wouldn't bother going back.
