I am taking the time to write a review because the website was really confusing and I was questioning the value and what type of ticket to purchase for the longest time :)
I purchased the all access ticket which was both the Spygames and Spyscape for myslef and my tween. For the first time going I am glad that I purchased both as I felt that the Spygames was the highlight but the Spyscape was also super interesting and worth the add on for a bit of learning after we played.
Spygames are a series of physical/mental challenges. You have 50 min to go to as many rooms as you can and complete the challenges. There were 9 open when we were there. The rooms are SO MUCH fun and what is cool is that they are all priavet - meaning when you are doing the challenges you are just with those in your group. The challenges are all a couple of minutes and while the technology behind the challenges is a bit repetitive, the experiences do not feel that way. There is a lot of jumping, running, balancing, etc and we def. broke a sweat. I would highly suggest bringing a pair of running shoes for this portion. There can also be some bottle necking as people wait for rooms. I would advise starting the video tutorials as soon as the next group enters (if waiting) so you are then not also delayed getting in. You can buy extra time but it is a bit pricy and it felt like 50 min was enough. The activities in Spygames seemed appropriate for ages 6 and up. Younger kids would have fun but they may not be able to do as many of the games so it may not be worth the money.
Spyscape was the museum about spys and a series of challenges (both mental and physcial). The actual displays were were cool and well done (thogh we sort of rushed through these as my child was not as into them). There are set of challenges that you participate in throughout the Spyscape that then lead to a spy profile you get digitally. Each of the activities is connected to a muesum display.
These include: a lie detector activity, laser tunnel, decoding activity, survaialnce (this was one of our favorites) personality and inteligence profile. The last (the personality and intelegence profile is a set of 8 quizzes). This is a bit lengthy and when we were there, there was a bottle neck at the start. We did not realize that ALL of the kiosks throughout the space had the same activity on them and it would be best to just move further into the museum and use a different one. You can also use your phone. Sharing just as a tip because this was a bit annoying and led us to rush through that part when we did not need to. At the end you recieve a Spy profile which was really cool. While we very much enjoyed the Spyscape portion, it may not be worth the money for anyone under 10 unless they are really into spy type things.
More general feedback -
The space was beautiful and very spy/hightech visuals (screens with scores, live feeds, spy memoriablia which added SO much to the experience. You are given a personalized wristband that scans you into all of the activities and keeps track of your scores which was also really fun and allowed you to not need a phone. There are free lockers to use where you keep all of your items. While the staff was very friendly, they were not super helpful in directions they gave - this led to a bit of confusion (though I'm sure dealing with tourists all day can wear on you :)). Also the gift shop, while overpriced, did have some pretty cool and interesting things and you should leave time to check it out. Transit there is also super easy.
Overall, I think this museum was well worth the time and money spent.
