Traveling solo so I decided to go on a tour with my now good friend Manfred from Heidelberg after stumbling across his website—and I’m so glad I did. Within minutes of reaching out, he responded and we had our entire day trip planned just two days before go time. That alone speaks volumes about how responsive and accommodating he is!
The tour itself? Incredible. Manfred took me on a personal adventure through the Black Forest and the charming spa town of Baden-Baden. He knew all the best spots—scenic views, hidden local gems, and even some unexpected highlights like a vintage car show where I got to witness Manfred light up like a kid at Christmas. Watching him geek out over classic Mercedes models was chef’s kiss.
Now, here’s the funny part—Manfred has a daughter my age, so the whole day felt like I was road-tripping with my dad… or a really cool uncle but more like a dad who also happens to be your buddy who’s fluent in local history and shortcut routes. It was laid-back, full of laughs, great conversation, and the kind of energy that turns a simple tour into a core memory.
I wouldn’t have discovered half the places we went to without him, and honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted to. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a genuine experience.
So here’s the deal: if you’re thinking about exploring the Heidelberg region, stop thinking and book Manfred (A Friend in Heidelberg). He’s a hot commodity for a reason. Your trip will instantly become ten times better—I promise.
